Female Form Study in Rose Ink and Crimson Splatter
£24.00
Presented in a standing, full-length orientation with one arm resting overhead, this original wash and ink piece investigates classical figurative curvature through a singular, fluid silhouette. Loose, expressive fountain pen outlines trace the contour of the hips, the turn of the shoulder, and the elongated leg alignment, using shifting nib pressure to record a quick sketch across the composition.
The pink palette utilizes the water-soluble qualities of coloured fountain pen ink, drenching the outer contours and thighs in soft violet-rose washes that pool into deeper shadows beneath the curves. This central configuration is dramatically punctuated by an energetic scattering of vibrant crimson ink splatters and large droplets that radiate outward into the open negative space on both sides of the form.
A deliberate play of light leaves the central torso and midsection entirely unpainted, exposing the clean texture of the background. By counterbalancing these fluid, saturated bursts against the wide tranquillity of the page, this original creation delivers an authentic gallery study of physical architecture, colour contrast, and natural posture.
