Presented as a mirrored, dual-figure study, this original wash and ink piece investigates structural form through two upright, side-by-side silhouettes. Rapid, overlapping fountain pen strokes outline the linear draping of the garments and gathered hair, where varying nib pressure creates a rhythmic, sketch-like boundary that instils the composition with a light, sartorial energy.
The palette is elegantly restrained, utilising a soft, flesh-toned undertone to fill the exposed skin of the forms, juxtaposed against layered monochromatic washes. The left silhouette features a column of muted slate grey ink mapping a streamlined vest and skirt, while the right form is clad in a deeper, multi-tonal charcoal wash that blooms outward into a flared, structural bell shape.
